About Me

I am a retired exploration geophysicist, started programming in Titan Autocode in 1966, graduated to Fortran and the Cambridge On-line Access System in '68, then encountered an HP-UX workstation in '89. I immediately saw the similarity between the COLAS and Unix. Little wonder: Steve Bourne had a big hand in both! Now turning to Linux in exasperation at MS wanting to rule the world.
